Hi Mella,

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Can you tell us a bit more about what you are looking for and perhaps what you already know so that no-one provides you with information you already have.

For example do you know her father's name?  And do you already have her baptism details?  What about the census - do you have those?

Little Nell, thank you how fast.On Elizabeth'parents I have nothing.Other than her mothers last name was Brown.I have the census,up until she died in 1908.I just did not how to find her back beyond her birthdate. My ggreat grandmother was in service, she and her sister Mary Ann.Mariah was born in 1841,and Mary was born in 1850.Mariah served a LADY BINGHAM,and travelled with them,at one time they went to the Isle of Wight, where she sat in the pew of Queen Victoria. The Queen was ill that day,and the minister let them sit there.I have not been able to find anything out for the Bingham'.Or where they lived.I have a photo of one of the brothers,of Eliz.his name was WILLIAM SCOTT and he was in the military in 1870,I will send it to you if you would like.I do not know if Mariah got married over there or not.Because she was around 32 yrs old when she came to the US,just her and Mary Ann all alone. The whole family was supposed to come over, but one of the brothers got sick and they had to wait, but for some reason it never happened,I do not know if they ever saw them again. Please let me know what else you might need.

Hmm, Elizabeth states she was born in Christchurch, but I cannot find a baptism around 1812 for an Elizabeth Scott.  Nor has a marriage for a male Scott to a female Brown appeared either.

Richard & Elizabeth's marriage is proving elusive and their first child George does not appear in the CofE baptism records either.  Did you get Elizabeth's maiden name from a birth certificate?

Elizabeth's brother William who was in the military in 1870 - he was a lot younger?  Otherwise he might have been well into his 50s.

Richard died in 1860.

Hello,I do not know for sure, but he looked young in the photo, and in 1870 she had grown children,it could have been a nephew. And I have no idea. They had a son named Henry, who had several children but I never saw a wife' name in any of the census.I went all the way to 1901,I see a Sarah, but it never says she is a wife.So either she was a daughter who slept around alot,or the census taker did not add it correctly. But in 1901 everyone was gone, but 2 little ones,Olive Elizabeth, and Alma Frances. They wound up in adult hood,in Bridgwater,Somerset, they married,Olive married a man named Turner, and Alma married someone named Earley.I have pictures of them also and their children...Thank you,am signing off till Monday.
