I am trying to send you a personal message but I think you have to have a certain # of messages posted before you can receive them. I would like to compare notes.  Can you send me a personal message (PM) with your personal email address and I will respond.

Wm. P's "Obituary" in 1823 referred to 2 sons and 2 daughters, one of whom was blind. I have read another article (source is buried in my notes somewhere) that this blind daughter was blind from birth.   I dont think it could have been Zenobia who was a Governess, so it must have been Elizabeth (Betsy) Bingley??

Anyway, try sending me a PM. I live near Playfairville.

Good morning. Yes. I just joined Rootschat so that I could contact you. Apparently I have to post at least 3 messages before I can send or receive PMs. This is the 3 and so we can try it. I went to Playfairville a number of years ago. Met Jay Playfair who was not at all interested nor was he friendly but he mentioned that a Playfair lived next to the church and had a bunch of pictures but he had "problems". I don't know if he is still alive or what happened to his stuff. Elizabeth was William's sister. Did you ever meet Kevin Bingley from Smith Fall's? He was trying to locate Elizabeth's grave. He found out the Andrew William & Sophia were re-buried by Peter McLaren and it was Peter who paid for the monument. Maybe the blind daughter was Louise.
Do you know how to send a PM?

Hi Susan...........

Select the members name you wish to send a message to, then select "Send PM".
More detail . . . . .
This is the page on the Rootschat website which gives you the information on the Personal Messaging system. http://www.rootschat.com/help/pms.php

What you place int the message does not get published in the open forums, only goes to the person/people you select.

Please do not mention "live" people's names/emails on the open forums as Rootschat has (perfectly valid) rules against such publishing. Google picks up open forum postings, so anti-spam and privacy etiquette rules apply.

WELCOME TO ROOTSCHAT, enjoy.
Should you need help, please ask. . . . . .

Hi Susan:

I tried to send you another PM but with no luck. Maybe it's more than 3 messages you need to post(?)

All the information in your last message is/are very familiar to me. Except I dont think Louise was the blind daughter.

I would rather exchange personal info. privately, so we will both keep trying to send PM's.  I am away for a week so you might not be able to contact me.

Thanks.

Hello! I'm a journalist trying to figure out where William Playfair is buried. Lanarman, can you please share the source of your information that he was buried at St. George's Hanover Square? For what it's worth, West Norwood has no record of him and the person I talked to there did not know about the cemetery taking on the St. George's remains. But I'm still looking!

Hi Susan:

Yes, I'm still around.  Interesting that they removed/cremated the bodies. I presume WP was one of these?

I have absolutely no information on Louisa but she must have died young as she is not mentioned in WP's 1823 "Obituary".  I have definite death dates for Andrew, John and Zenobia and an 1867 date for Elizabeth (my 3rd G Grandmother) but no source.

Are you (we) related?

Thanks
