Herbert VEASEY Shepton Mallet

Hi, I am looking for Herbert Veasey born 1881 in Shepton Mallet. Married a Margaret Rees in 1905 Shepton Mallet but I think she came from LLanelly.They had a daughter Annie Mary born 1904 in Llanelly. I am looking for other children born after they married and lived in Shepton Mallet. Also his parents of whom I know nothing. I do not have his marriage certificate yet so any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks for this. I know they had more children (Herbert / Margaret) as later on a son Willaim E.J. appears apparantly born 1910 Shepton Mallet. I also have an Hilda b. 1924, a Herbert b. 1915 and a Arthur Ernest b. 1909 but these have to be confirmed. There seems to be some gaps between them. I know in later times Annie moved back to Llanelli as she married Evan Llewellyn Evans there in 1928.

i think you will find that william edward veasey c 1910 and arthur ernest veasey c1909 are the children of gilbert veasey c 1888 and rachel veasey c 1889
all these names appear together in 1911 in shepton mallet

Thankyou for that. So they are Herberts brothers children. Interesting.

I have tried to find other births using BMD but can only come up with Lenorah and Hilda as you have already.

There are quite a few name variants of Veasey and I think the name originated as Vaisey, plus variants, in Cloford and Wanstrow areas.

Have you tried to find other children using any of the name variants?

There are a number of Veasey births in Shepton Mallet Registration District in the 1920s with the mother's maiden name of Wellstead. I will try to see if there is a connection.
