There are two sites which you may find helpful, that is if you haven't seen them already. One is for the Frome Local Group http://www.gomezsmart.myzen.co.uk/

This has a search facility and I looked for both Hillier and Veasey to find many hits for each of these names. Nunney seems to crop up in relation to both of them.

The other is the Whitstone Hunbdred Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/whitstone/

This gives access to various information and parish registers that are not online. It is necessary to join the group first though.

There is a burial of Thomas Hillier in Nunney on 12 July 1863. He was aged 80 years.

Also, a burial of Thomas Hillier in Wanstrow in 27 April 1864. He was aged 46 years.

These are both on Freereg.

BMD has a death registration for Samson Veasey in Shepton Mallet RD in the June quarter 1914. It shows him as aged 65 years. Volume 5c Page 516.

Hi Wozzle. I have Gilbert Veasey b. 7th Oct 1887. Wanstrow. died 1974, married 1908 to Rachel Harris Wellstead (b. 1889) Wanstrow. 3 kids. Thanks for your info.

Hi Wozzle, thanks for your help. The marriage of Samson Veasey and Annie White Hillier was on 21st May 1872 in Frome. Her father was Thomas White Hillier (dies before 1872) and don't know her mother yet. Samson's Father was Issac Veasey (son of Charles Hoddinott Veasey) and Hannah Joyce. Samson was born 12 Jan 1849 Cloford. I don't have his death date yet.

and then hopefully pin down their marriage to get elizabeths maiden name
