Willer Family of North Walsham

I am stuck and need some guidance please. I cannot find a death record for an ancestor born Ernest Alfred Willer, born Smallburgh reg. district July 1896, he married in 1923, his wife died in 1974 and on her death certificate he is listed as still alive. I have checked Ancestry but cannot find a death record after 1974 for Ernest Willer. I have tried variants of the surname i.e. Weller, Willes, Willar but to no avail.

If anyone could give me some direction, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
