looking for information on family of james wishart immigarated to australia 1850 from elie fife scotland . left plymouth22nd aug 1850 arrived port adelaide
23 nov 1850. james wishart age 31 carpenter married to janet(jessie) philp
1842 kilconquhar fife scotland. family barbara age 7 / james age 6 / christina
age 1. the ship they left on was the barque joseph saomes. i would appreciate
any heip with this.

What sort of information are you looking for? What records do you have after your family arrived in SA?

From the BISA (Not always absolutely correct but always a good starting point.)

WISHART James born 1818 Kircaldy Fife Scotland died 1914 arrived 1850 aboard the JOSEPH SOMES occupation Carpenter, Builder, Contractor, Undertaker residence Penrice, Angaston
married Jessie nee PHILP who was born 1819 and died 19 Sep 1900 Angaston SA
children Barbara 1843, Jas 1844, Christina 1849, Marion, Benjamin 1855-1948, Alexr, Maria Alicia JOHNSON

WISHART Alexander 19 Nov 1859 Angaston Dist Ang 142 142 a second entry lists the birth as Penrice 18 140
WISHART George Champness 12 Oct 1861 Penrice Dist Ang 23 471 died 12 Dec 1866 Penrice Dist Ang 23 410 He was aged 4 years and 6 months residence Penrice relative James WISHART Father

I dont see a birth but this looks like another death

Ann WISHART died 20 May 1866 Penrice Dist Ang 24 72. She was aged 12 residence Penrice relative James WISHART father

You will find the Angaston burials here I note young George and Ann are together at Angaston Pioneer so her birth wasn't registered

There was a Miss WISHART travelled to New Caledonia departing 11 Mar 1874 aboard the Essie Black. There are quite a few WISHARTS in Adelaide so I had no idea who she was but......

Christina WISHART and William HODGSON did have children in SA. I don't see a marriage, but I do see Emily Mabel HODGSON born 10 Aug 1877 New Caladonia Dist Ang 188 1.

Yes Christina died in New Caledonia I noted after the 1877 birth a birth in 1879 then another in 1891 seemed a huge gap so I wondered if they may have been overseas again
