Hi,

I was planning to go to Retford and look tomorrow, but I will leave it in the capable hands of Braindead!

I now have a map of sections of the graveyard from the council if anyone else needs to know any areas, having spent some considerable time yesterday on the phone to them.

Haven't had a chance to get to the cemetary again, but I was in the library so snatched a quick look at the Retford St. Saviours parish register & came across an entry for Mary Jane.

The columns read, from left to right:
Name:                     Abode:                When Buried:             Age:               By Whom the Ceremony
                                                                                                                   was Performed:

The most interesting fact is the abode of "Union" which indicates she was in the workhouse & perhaps explains why there isn't a marker.

I had a quick look for Joseph but couldn't find him in St Saviours, but will look again next time.
