Ann Kerchevall
« on: Thursday 17 March 11 03:19 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for information on my 7th Great Grandmother, Ann Kerchevall.  Mainly I would really love a birth / baptism date and parents - but anything else would be lovely.

With Kerchevall being such an unusual name I thought tracing her would be easy - how wrong I was!

Here is what I know:

Ann Kerchevall married George Palin (Pailing) 3 June 1766 in Balderton.  They had one daughter, Mary in 1767.

George died in 1767.  Ann then married Samuel Becket in Cromwell 2 Aug 1768.

Ann and Samuel had at least one child (my ancestor), Ann in 1769.

Ann Kerchevall died in 1801 in Cromwell.

Cheers
Lisa :)

Thanks.  I have trawled the IGI, but sadly keep coming up with nothing for Ann. :(

Have you considered the possiblity that Ann was a widow when she married George Palin?
The marriage register may or may not show her status, but unless it actually says 'spinster' the possibility remains open.
Do you know how old she was when she died, and would her age rule out her being old enough to be Ann Wilson who married John Kerchevall in 1753? There are 5 children born to John and Ann Kerchevall between 1755 and 1760 baptised in Balderton, and none after that (or anywhere else in Nottinghamshire) showing on the IGI.

I thought I had seen somewhere that she was a spinster, but cannot find it now - so maybe I did assume. :(

Unfortunately I do not know her age at death.
