there are 2 other children beside albert of this couple
one born 1918 in dover
and one born 1922 in dover
i can find no other records for the child born 1918 (and as her first name is very uncommon it is possible she is still alive or died after 2005)
so if you want the full birth indexes for these 2 children then it will have to be done via p.m.
cattell,alcester
vickers,sulgrave
hewish,holborn
manley,bethnal green
barnes,bassingbourn

Hi Maisie

You state that "Winnie" died very young

I think you are mistaken age21 she was a schoolteacher and lived with sister mabel

I think she married later and died c 1950

If you think she lived longer then just ask and will post details

Wozzle, well done -it looks like you have found John Frederick

Hello Malsie

Last night whilst chatting over supper with my family my interest in a portrait hanging at the head of the table grew.  I knew she was a distant relation of some sort on my fathers side and took it down to see if any information had been scribed on the back....EMMA SARAH ANN PUDAN 1849 - ?.  In a vain attempt of finding some sort of information i googled her and found your posts.  I have since had a wonderful time exploring my ancestry through the Peck's through your posts and i'd like to thank you for that.  I have since discovered that I am John Frederick Peck's (your grandfather Russell's brother) Great Grandaughter and therefore Emma Sarah Ann Pudan's Great Great Grandaughter.  I also have received from my uncle a photo of John Frederick Peck and family which i attach here.  Do let me know if you would like a picture of Emma Sarah Ann Pudan...although the portrait is filthy i will do my best to get a good image should you wish.

While I am at it.....now i have discovered a little more regarding our extended family i wonder if you know how/why a portrait of Emma would have been undertaken?  my limited research shows that Emma's parents were an engine driver and a head mistress and her grandparents (on her maternal side) a gardener/publican....and therefore no evidence suggesting they had an excess of funds to warrant having a portrait painted.

Thanks, Suz
Yes you appear to be correct - ta !!

BPeck - LOVE the photo - unfortunately the bottom one didn't work.

My dad's name was Bob Peck = B Peck so I was startled to see BPeck !
WONDERFUL

My g'dad, Frank(Russell) Peck painted a good portrait of my dad when he(Dad) was about
3 yo...I paint commissioned portraits...my Uncle Russ was a professional signwriter(one of Frank's sons);
Maybe a family member painted the portrait of Emma Sarah Ann Pudan. Cheap and plausible,eh? lol
Would love a copy, plz.

Yes, I'm so happy to have an engine driver in my family as I love trains; Dad would have been thrilled about the school teacher - ha!

If you wish to send me an email address via a personal message would love to send you photos too.
All very exciting,
malsie  :)
