Irish Records Extraction Database
« on: Saturday 26 March 11 15:21 GMT (UK) »
I have found a record on Ancestry for the marriage of Hannah Mahoney and Daniel Twomey 17 Feb 1848 in Currow RC Church, Co Kerry - I believe they are my husband's 3x great grandparents.  This information came from the Irish Records Extraction Database.

This is my first Irish connection in both  my tree and my husband's tree and so I wondered if it is possible to obtain a marriage certificate and if so, where from??

Many thanks

Julie

RC marriages were not included in Civil records until 1864, so there will be no marriage cert available. See : Introduction to Irish Records

Many parish records for Co. Kerry are available (free of charge) on www.irishgenealogy.ie

I dont see a parish or village named Currow in Co. Kerry at the moment - records are kept by parish rather than by individual church...

thanks again Shane...interesting that she is down as Johannah when she is Hannah on the Database...  I have noticed in my searching that the name Twomey is spelt so many different ways..Toomey and here Tuomy - !! Julie
