Henry Lesk and Janet Linay m. 15/1/1813

Hi,

I have on my tree the marriage of a Henry Lesk (or Leask) and a Janet Linay - 15/1/1813 in the parish of Kirkwall and St Ola, Orkney, their son James Baikie leask being one of my direct ancestors.  I have found Janet Linay and her parents being Robert Linay and Ann Thomson.

From the IGI I have found 2 siblings of Janet being Elspet b.1795 and Robert, Janets twin . 1797.

I am trying to verify the parents of Henry Lesk and if possible to find any details on the marriage of Robert Linay and Ann Thomson

there,s a death for henry leask victoria street kirkwall, widower of janet linay, 7/9/1868 aged 85yrs his parents were william leask tailor and margaret flett, james leask grandson was witness

Many thanks, it is most likely my Henry.  His son, James Baikie Leask, also had a son James, who could be the James that was a witness on the death cert.

looks like janet was still alive in 1861, I have found them on the 1861 census in kirkwall at shore street, it says she was born in st andrews ( east mainland orkney )
it also says henry was born in orphir

6/10/1797   Kirkwall and St Ola, parents as I said,  is it possible this is not the same janet Linay as it also shows a janet Linay born about 1792 as spouse to henry Leask

found the janet linay ( linay/lennie? ) who was married to the henry i found in victoria street, she died 1866 aged 76yrs her parents were john lennie and jean spence
