A point worth noting is that civil marriage certs give the current residences of the bride and groom, not those of the fathers. Children had often moved away by the time they married. For example only about half of my gt-grandparents and gt-gt-grandparents were living at the family home at the time of their marriages.

I found a marriage of Joseph Agar to Mary Carter in Carlow approx 1836, no other details recorded! Who did Joe's daughter marry? There is no Boilnfoyle in Carlow! There is a Ballyfoyle in Kilkenny and Ballinfoyle in Wicklow.
Headstone for Sam and Beaty in Tullow, they are my uncle and aunt! Sam's family are from Croughtenclogh/Bilboa/Augharue area of Carlow. There were  alot of Agar families in this area also around Coolnakisha and Old Leighlin. This is near the Carlow/Kilkenny border.
Regards
Patricia
