Hi There is a Rhoda Broad or Brown from Cornwall living in York in 1891 with sister

By the next census she is still with John Pearson, in Pocklington, says birthplace Polkerrie.   Anyone know where that might be? (apart from Cornwall   :))

MoMo - any sign of a death for Edward Brown prior to the oldest Devoy child's birth?

The elder DEVOY child looks more likely to have been registered as May BROWN (though that's too common to be sure it's her) - can't see a DEVOY birth for her.

If Rhoda Broad married Edward Brown and John Pearson it would be strange she didn't marry Thomas Devoy?

Could she have lived with him but still have been married to Edward Brown so didn't formally marry? But then why be Devoy when she married John? I would love to see the Pearson marriage cert!! :) ;D
