parish church of Edgbarton
« on: Monday 28 March 11 17:43 BST (UK) »
My folks were married in the Parrish church of Edgbarton, kings Norton (1875).
Vicar I. Spooner.  Does this building still exist?  Can you suggest web sites for images?
Or a good old book that has both pictures of church and stories of that time.

I have a copy of info from church records, but all it says on top is Parish church of Edgbarton in the county of Warwick.  Hand writing is hard to read.

I would have thought it was edgbaston too. I have a cert from the area and there was an obvious miss-spelling on it.

Perfect, my spelling error. Edgbaston.  I search st. George's in that village or town.

this link explains Isaac Spooner was the first incumbent.

Thanks!

It will depend on the date, as larger parishes were divided up in the 19th Century as the population expanded.
Go to http://www.achurchnearyou.com/ and put Edgbaston in search

There are three churches - the ancient parish church, which was considerably enlarged and beautified in 1857; and the two district churches of St. George's and St. James's." The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868)
