Norton Canon: birth look-up please - Henry PEMBER (b.abt 1816)

I would be most grateful if anyone can assist to look-up the birth record of Henry Pember, who according to the 1851 Census was born in about 1816 (or 1813), in Norton Canon, Herefordshire.

He was my 3xGreat-Grandfather.  Apparently, he later moved from Norton Canon to Bodenham, where IGI records indicate he married Sarah Caldwell on 15th Dec 1836.

I am keen to find out more about his parents, siblings and ancestors.

Needless to say, any additional information regarding other family members of Henry would be greatly appreciated!

the 5 christenings around the year you have stated are all the children of John Pember and Anne

John Pember married Anne Vaughan 26th June 1803 in Norton Canon

William -Thomas -Ann - Eleanor  - John -Elizabeth are their children
william 1814 being their last child - Elizabeth their first....1805

but couldn`t find a Henry....allan

I guess that one will need to check the parish registers for thereabouts, but not sure which parish?  Henry married Sarah Caldwell, from Yazor, on 15th Dec 1836 in Bodenham.  Sarah was born in Yazor in about 1816, being baptized 15th Dec 1816.  I understand that Yazor is close to Norton Canon?

Perhaps another route would be to see if their marriage record indicates Henry's parish of origin? They were married in Bodenham on 15th December 1836.

Hiya...I see you are online....my family the Merrick family are from Norton Canon from 1700 to 1850...I went to N/Canon 2 years ago ( I live in Liverpool )...Norton Canon has about 25 houses / a church / and a pub....thats it ...its a very very small village , so there will only be the one parish church for records to my knowledge...maybe if Catholic , they are registered somewhere else

I am still pretty convinced that Henry came from the area, as his marriage to Sarah from the nearby village of Yazor would seem to support this, rather than further away Bodenham (where they ended-up living).

Henry was a Cooper.  I understand that this was also the trade of one Thomas Pember, born about 1813, who was also parish clerk at St Nicholas Church, Norton Canon.  I wonder if Thomas could have been a brother to Henry?  Eccles Green and Norton Canon are mentioned in connection with Thomas - but I cannot now find original reference!

As far as I know, the Pembers were all C of E.

I have posted another request to find out if marriage register entry (Bodenham, Dec 1836) indicates Henry's parish of origin.  I think it may be a 'long shot', but could perhaps resolve this question.

I am living in South Africa, so not so able to get to Herefordshire to check the records directly...

Sarah Caldwell christened 15th dec 1816 Yazor  parents William Caldwell and Elizabeth...I can`t find anymore christenings in that time period for Caldwell in Yazor...
there is a marriage in 1800 in Mansell Lacy ,Herefordshire
William to Elizabeth Jones....let me check how far Yazor is fro Mansell Lacy

That is a possible for Sarahs parents ...Yazor to Mansell Lacy is less than 2 miles.....allan

no more in Mansell Lacy...maybe he was a farmer and moved around...I would think there would be more children between 1803 and 1816 ....unless Sarah wasn`t christened until she was about 10
