HIT ANOTHER WALL ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED MY IRISH GR GR GRANDPARENT CAME FROM IRELAND AROUND 1899 FIRST CHILD BORN IN PHILADELPHIA 1900 CAN NOT FIND THEM IN ANY CENSUS  EXCEPTS KIDS WHO WERE TAKEN AWAY AND GREW UP IN ORPHANAGES PARETNS WERE IN HOUSES OF CORRECTION AND FATHER ABANDONED FAMILY THIS IS WHAT I HAVE

MARTIN MCGLYNN  FOUND 1 MARTIN MCGLYN IN FEDERAL PRISON IN 1930 PHILDELPIA CENSUS 62 OR 62 THIS ONE CAME OVER IN 1898-1899 BORN AROUND 1868

MARY ROWAN OR SPELLED RUANE BUT ALL ORPHANAGE PAPERS SAY ROWAN

I THINK THEY MARRIED IN IRELAND BOTH PARENTS DRANK
MARY HAS A BROTHER PATRICK ROWAN LISTED A A POLICE OFFICER IN IRELAND AND A BROTHER JOHN ROWAN IN ENGLAND DOES NOT GIVE SPECIFICS   CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS CAN WE POSSIBLE LOOK UP A POLICE OFFICER IN IRELAND IN THAT TIME PERIOD

Hi,

If they were married in Ireland, you should be able to find their marriage in the marriage indexes. These are available at your local family history centre. cross reference the two surnames in the same district.

There are records of police in Ireland. Try posting the message on an Irish message board for specifics.

my family came from donegal name of rowan also mcglynn is are common name in donegal hope this might help

 hi dont know if this is any good to you,all we know is at the age of 16 he was sent to englandearly 1900s his wifes name is elizabeth jane cavanagh.i will try and find out more for you
