Old Church, St Pancras Lookup please *COMPLETED*
« on: Friday 22 April 05 21:21 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone

Would it be possible to check a marriage of Thomas Rayson and Sarah Higgs on 24 April 1823 at Old Church

The names of the respective fathers would be fantastic or any other relevant information

TIA

Hi Lacie,

Before 1837, fathers' names are not included in the marriage register entry.   :( You may occasionally get an occupation,  but otherwise it is:
date, names of the couple, whether of the parish or not, bachelor etc, whether by banns or licence, names of witnesses.

Nell

Thanks for that, the information you say should be available may offer a clue to tracing the family

Cheers

hi,Just looked at IGI batch numbers for London and several Rayson names
Marriages at Old Church
Selina to Francis Jeffery Bray 8/7/1826.
Thomas to Sarah Briggs 24/4/1827 not 1823? Possibly wrong translation?
Ambrose to Lucy Adams 31/12/1832
Alfred William to Frances Fudge 7/2/1857   and probably more.

Christenings for children of Thomas and Sarah
Sarah born 25/6/1827 and Emma born 10/9/1831 both Christened on 21/11/1833 possibly more.

Bill.
