I don,t know if this is a link but on death certificate of Rose O'Hara died 12th January 1884 it states that she was previously married to:
1. Duncan McTaggart (my ggggrandfather) who died in 1864.
2. William Smith aged 41 (from 1871 census) states living at 4 south street, parick, glasgow.
May be a long shot, as census states william was born in ireland.
Do you by any chance have a Duncan McTaggart born around 1823/1824 to Duncan McTaggart (occ.farmer) and Rachel Taylor?

Would this be the birth for Malcolm Smith 11/5/1861 Campbeltown
Father Peter Smith Mother Betsy McTaggart

This seems to be the only census with possible match in Campbeltown the family are boarders with a Isabella McMillan age 56 Born Killean Argyll ( carters widow ) address Witchburn Campbeltown
John Smith age 13, Flora age 11, Malcolm age 9, Charles age 6 all born. Campbeltown
1871 Census do these names mean anything
Rosie
