Hi David,
Just found death of a Charlotte Ainsworth on freebmd in 1855 in Southwark, Surrey which is where Emma married.
Annieh
I think 1851 census search of Southwark might help!

I hope that's the one, as you stand a chance in 1851. There's another in St Pancras in June 1847 - and on the IGI at St Pancras there were births of Ann in 1838 and Mary 1840 where the parents were John and Charlotte, so this one might be worth a second look as well, as well as checking 1841.

Have you found Emma Aslett in 1851? I've found her in 1861 if you need details (birthplace transcribed as Sangford which didn't help!) in St Saviour

Regards

David

Do you have Emma's marriage cert in 1850 from St George Southwark? If so what addresses are shown as I have the 1851 census and it's street indexed. Hopefully they may have been at the same address in 1851.

Hi David,
I gave it to my sister in law yesterday!! Just phoned her and she is a passenger on top of an old bus. There is a special day today in honour of one of the preservation men who died recently. She will ring me on her return so I will let you know later.
Thanks
Annieh

Just seen your message re St Pancras Ann and Mary on IGI parents John Charlotte. I looked on the familysearch and they do not show. Do you have a special one?

They're still there this morning on the regular site!

Mary Ainsworth chr 16 Sept 1838 St Pancras Old Church
Ann Aisworth (sic) - but it still shows up against an Ainsworth search - chr 18 Oct 1840 St Pancras Old Church
Parents John and Charlotte Ainsworth.
The entries also give the birth dates.

Ann is on FreeBMD so if all else fails you could get  her birth cert to see if it's the right family
