Jean Spence & John Linay (Lennie)

Further to my last post, I have been trying to put bits and pieces together, concentrating mainly on Jean Spence for now.  What I have found

Only marriage of a Jean Spence and John Linay - From IGI  only details 1772 in St Andrews, Orkney.

Looking at Jean Spence births in Cursiter I have come across the christening of a Jean Spence on 16/4/1758 (parents James Spence and Jean Tait.  Obviously this begs the question - was it common to be married at age 14/15 in those days, or perhaps the marriage info is flawed or I have noticed sometimes there is a large gap between birth and christening??  Since we have Jeans daughter Janet's  birth date as 25/10/1788, this appears to be the only Jean who would be in the right age group, who was also born in St Andrews and whose mother was called Jean, 3 compelling factors. Another factor would be the that this Jean has a sister called Janet born 1754 also St Andrews, and Janet is a name that is passed down?

I welcome any help in confirming these findings as true or false

also a birth for john linay about 1747 st andrews

dont know if you have the children of john linay and jean spence but here goes; elspeth 30/11/1781, isobella 22/6/1784, isobella ( again ) 4/7/1786, james 28/10/1778, janet 25/10/1788, john 19/5/1775, john ( again ) 13/12/1776, margaret 16/9/1773 and marion 6/4/1780 all born st andrews
