i need help! please

Hello i need a little bit of help as once i am outside England (and Wales) i am pretty much flummoxed - i don't think i have posted this request previously

my partners Gran was Philomena Elizabeth Mooney
sadly she died last year.
she was married at least twice (in England) i have her second marriage certificate

her first marriage was under Elizabeth P Mooney in the GRO index and was to Edward Michael Harrison-Owen

she was born somewhere in Ireland and that is where i need the help to find her birth

I have looked here

P.S Norman was actually born 10 Dec 1929 so he was not 30 when he married

There's a number of births for the name Philomena Mooney in Ireland c1926. Have you tried certs for any of these ?

thanks for your reply, no i haven't actually brought a cert from Ireland yet i don't now how i looked on the GRO/NI (is this the right site?)  and it said i would need place of birth obviously i don't know this  or i wouldn't need the certificate.

that's the problem... without knowing a location you would have to order any Philomena Mooney birth certs around 1926 to see if they fit her father's name and occupation.

Unfortunately all the details are too recent to be included on an English or Irish census. I wonder is there are way you could find some record in England that might mention her place of origin..

GRONI is the General Register Office of Northern Ireland which covers the 6 counties (Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry, Tyrone) of Northern Ireland only. The online civil registration index only goes up to 1921 for Northern Ireland counties.

Shane i have no idea of where in Ireland or her mothers maiden name
how many are coming up on the search you did do any have a middle name of Elizabeth ?

Aghadowey i did check there but it was after 1921

middle names dont always appear in the BMD Index. Sometimes these are baptism names and may only be decided later on.

do we know what will next be available which might show her birth place as anything other than Ireland ?

do you know of any Mooney relations in England that might have some details ?

Might be worth enquiring with older relations to see if anyone remembers anything that might turn out to be a clue..
