Is it just coincidence that the parents of Alice Knott were Samuel Knott and Ellen and the parents of Alice Nichols were Ellen and Samuel?

Both Alice's seem to have been born in 1912 as well - is there some confusion with surnames here?  Are you talking about one and the same person?

Births March qtr 1912   
Alice Nicholls  mothers maiden name  Butler  Prestwich  8d 585

Again - surname is spelt with 2 L's

A quick look on the 1901 census brings up a few possibilities for Samuel Nichol(l)s. To know for sure you would need the marriage cert CaroleW posted

I now have the married dates for Ellen Butler & Samuel Nicholls,Can't wait to order it.
Cant find them on 1911 census though???
