are the marriages the same man ?
i have him on the 1841 and 1881 census as a slater

helping someone else and they're paying for the certs. but i don't want to make too many errors
1851 seems to confirm what i suspect 
andrew beat is the father(married to helen grubb 1822)
margaret(nee winks) andrew's 2nd wife(married 1833)

the rest i'll need to work on but suspect charlot may be christina

the 1861 matches the names i have
but the mainline name is a cracker(b.1862) powrie beat(s)
wonder where that one came from

Powrie sounds like a surname used as a first name, and unusual in itself. Hope that makes for easier searching of the name for him in later years!

sarah smith(m.s. brown)(i've got grace/grizzel brown)
joseph beat died 1900 , parents andrew beat and helen grubb(spot on)
widower of helen moncur(agnes?) and sarah smith

one of these days i'll get a death cert. that has the correct details
