1911 = confused...
« on: Thursday 07 April 11 00:24 BST (UK) »
Ok, so i consider myself quite experienced when it comes to family research and having researched my great grandads family for the past 10 years i thought i couldn't be surprised anymore. However now on this new 1911 census, a James Hill has appeared that i've never seen before as his brother in between other children... can anyone find his birth for me, im completely stumped... Heres all the info i have:

Father George Hill
Mother Elizabeth Hill ms Sharp

Now this is the order that the children go in, however James's birth year could be a few...
Robert Sharp 1894 (Airdrie)
Jessie Nicol Hill 1896 (Muiravonside)
Andrew Pollock Hill 1897 (Falkirk)
David Sharp Hill 1898 (Polmont) d.1904
Elizabeth Sharp Hill 1899 (Polmont) d.1902
William Nicol Hill 1902 (Tradeston) d.1903
JAMES HILL BETWEEN 1900-1903 AGED 8 ON CENSUS
Margaret Sharp Hill 1904 (Lanark)
John Sharp Hill 1906 (Holytown)
Elizabeth Hamilton Sharp Hill 1910 (Coatbridge)
Georgina Pollock Hill 1914 (Airdrie)

Help pleaseeee :)

Thanks

Have you not checked on Scotlands People?  Strange that all the other children have middle names but not James?

He is not showing on 1901 census so he was probably born 1902/3

technically if the dates are right he should of been born 1902.

If his birth was between 1st Jan and 1st April 1903 then he would be 8yrs old on the census

Also i think he will have a middle name as all the others do, except Robert but thats because he isn't George's son and George likes middle names... hah.
