Terence Toner b.Armagh @1860 son of Patrick Toner & Eliz. McParland
« on: Thursday 07 April 11 02:00 BST (UK) »
Seeking info on Terence Toner b. 1860 Armagh of Patrick & Lizzie Toner.  He left Armagh for Philadelphia @1880 and in Philadelphia met up with his 4th cousin, Rosetta Toner also from Armagh and married her.  Rosetta had brothers Patrick, John & Michael who came to Philadelphia as well.  Rosetta's parents were Michael and Rose (Costello) Toner.  I am trying to find out where in Armagh the families lived.

Thanks much,
Marianne

spartam  -  If you look at this link you will see that it is Griffiths Valuation of Ireland for the Parish of Lisnadill in Co. Armagh taken in 1864.
http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/armagh/lisnadill.php

You will see loads of Toners there including several Michaels and Patricks, and even a Terence.  This might give a clue as to where your Toners came from.

There is also a baptism listed for a Terence Toner, father Patrick on

http://www.rootsireland.ie/

I can't gaurantee that he is yours, as the baptism date is 1857.
Lisnadill Parish is South of the town of Armagh

Hi Spartam,
I have records of Toners and Mc Parlands which are of later dates than you were researching. However I thought i`d post them incase they may have some connection to your family tree - because similar names are turning up.

Arthur Toner (lived at Cashel) married Mary Ann Mc Cone (lived at Foley) in Ballymacnab chapel Co Armagh 11th Jan 1897
The witness at the wedding was Mary A Mc Parland.

Their first born child was Patrick 1898 and he was baptised by Rev T Mc Parland
Thomas born 1901 and Godparent was Peter Mc Parland
Arthur born 1906 Godparent Peter Mc Parland
Rose Ann born 1907
Michael born 1908

There were 8 children in this family and they all lived at Cashel Co Armagh. If you think this family is relevant to you i will post the remaining names, D.O.B`s, godparents etc.

Good luck with your research. Noreen
