Census 1851 Dover - Temple Ewell
« on: Saturday 23 April 05 09:00 BST (UK) »
Hello Anyone

I am looking for any Ellen family that occupied 77 Church Hill Temple Ewell or lived in the suurounds. The 1901 census has George Ellen as head and Mary as wife children are listed. I need to know if it was the family home in 1851.

Thankyou if you can help

Mandy

Hi Mandy

Are you sure that this address will be listed as such (if it existed) in 1851 - it isn't listed in 1881.

Are you trying to trace the ELLEN family that you have in 1901 back?  If so, do you have them in all the other census ie. 1891 1881 etc. etc.?

If not, then post the 1901 census details and somebody will have a look for them.

Best wishes

Thankyou Casalguidi

It appears there are 2 branches of Ellens in 1901 census, one Guston and one Temple Ewell, both heads of family are George Ellen, so I am getting a tad confused. I will post all details and hope someone can help.
