I wouldn't assume they are the same couple because the address is the same.

Why would you think that two couples living in the same street are necessarily at the same address?

they might have been neighbours of course (as well as potentially brothers)
As there is no house number or name then you can't be sure they were all together in one house, surely?

Hi, I agree with Dawn, they are not necessarily at the same address.
At that time Kent Street (now Tabard Street) was a notorious area with poor accomodation, lodging houses and 'Yards' or 'Courts' running of it.(as much of Southwark was)
It gave its name to the phrase 'Kent Street Ejectment' where landlords would remove the front door of anyone not paying their rent for two weeks!

There are a lot of 'Collins' in that area and it will not be easy to put it all together as people would move around quite a lot as I have found with my own ancestors in that area,

A couple of interesting links on Kent Street........

Hi all

Thx so much for all the replies

Has anyone managed to find a birth record for Daniel Collins?

The address

I can not seem to match the Jeremiah family to any census? Will take a look at death records etc
Have not managed to match up a William to the same family either?

Also what I noticed is there is no baptism record for a Thos (Thomas) Collins to Daniel&Mary?

Also on a few of the baptism records I noticed the address as George Yard Kent street. I am having a hard time finding this address on any census. Thanks for the links and information Billramp I will def check them out.

According to the 1841/51 census The Daniel/Mary family lived at 8 Little Britain Kent Road

I am really stuck with this as the family I am trying to trace are the Jeremiah/Mary family. I have come to a halt and can not seem to go beyond this.

I would be so grateful for any advice/information given

Thanks
Michelle

I think you're suffering from overkill with all of this info. but you will see up the page that the consensus is Jeremiah died before 1841 & his wife had remarried so he won't be on any census.
It's now been established that these are 2 seperate families & I would suggest consentrating on yours & leave Daniel on the back burner until you can establish a link.
