When you say "registered at 41 High st, Buchanhaven" do you mean this is the address in the 1911 census?
His birth certificate should also be available on Scotland's People website and will list details like exact date and place of birth, parents, etc. Or are you looking for some other sort of information about him?

What is David's birthplace and who is he living with in 1911?   If with parents - that should help find his birth on SP as mentioned above and also his parents marriage

Hi ZanT,

I searched for David Buchan, male, county Aberdeeen district - Peterhead aged 8  to 9, and got 1 answer, have you tried this?

Hi CaroleW,

Sorry, I wasn't reading it like that.

Like Aghadowey, I thought it  meant he registered a birth address in Buchanhaven. If he has got the census, does that mean he is not with his parents? Sorry but not reading it as you. Maybe having a senior moment, been cooked up all day, searching census stuff on SP, need some fresh air!

Must admit I read it that he had been found on the 1911 census living at 41 High St, Buchanhaven - although phrasing of post could be read many ways

ZanT will presumably have bought credits to check the 1911 entry

Frankly I wasn't sure what was meant in the original post which is why I've asked if that is the 1911 census address. It would also help to know exactly what Zant needs help finding so we'll just have to wait for clarification.

Hi to you all,

Thanks for all your replies, sorry for any confusion.

David was shown living at 41 High st, Buchanhaven on the 1911 census.
Working out his age, I estimated he was born around 1902/03 presumably in Buchanhaven or Peterhead. I was surprise that my gran had a younger brother that she never spoke about.
I did do a quick search on SP, but unable to locate his birth certificate.
I would very much love to know if he has any relations and how I can go about perhaps locating them.
