This could be a possibility.

In Mar.qtr.1846 at Leeds a Jonathan Dunderdale married a Jane Hogley (ref.23 368)

On 1851 Census in Leeds (ref.HO107 - 2320 - 581 - 1) there's a Jonathan Dunderdale 45 with wife Jane 30, son David 21, dau. Sarah A. 11 and a dau. Mary  b.1843.   However, all are shown as born Leeds but this could just be an error by whoever gave the information.

Can't find a birth listed for a Mary Dunderdale c.1843 Leeds so wonder if this is actually Jane's dau. Mary Ogley.

There is also the death of a Jonathan Dunderdale in Sept.qtr.1860 at Hunslet which could be him thus leaving Jane a widow and free to marry again.

Something worth checking out anyway.

Hello...... :)

A good find by Annette......I did have a look to see if I could come up with anything but I lost my info when we had a brief power cut....I see the John Gray marriage to Jane Dunderdale was by license, if it survives could give a bit more information.?

Hopefully I have gathered my info together again....just might come in useful in proving everything.

This  looks like Jane Dunderdale.....

1861.... RG9; Piece: 3500; Folio: 63; Page: 17 = Attercliffe and Darnall
Jane Dunderdale  aged 42 = born Everton

After Jonathan Dunderdale's death this looks like David in 1861 - RG09/3384/81/29
Sarah Ann in 1861 - RG09/3362/116/7

Although the age for John Gray doesn't match the marriage certificate, certain things do.
1871 = RG10/3445 /10/13     - Silver Street,  Jenan's Yard, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire

GRAY, John, Head   Sloopman? aged 79 - born Gringley, Nottinghamshire
GRAY, Jane, Wife aged 54 born Everton, Nottinghamshire
HARWOOD, Hannah   Granddaughter aged 13 1858 Nottinghamshire
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
re the grandaughter Hannah....Hannah born  Everton (Notts index - parents Jervis & Mary Harwood born 1858 = Gervis Harwood married Mary Gray at Everton - 4th June 1838 )

EVERTON, Nottinghamshire - baptisms - parents Thomas & Tabitha OGLEY - occupation Labourer - abode Drakeholes

ROBERT OGLEY - 7th Nov 1817
JANE OGLEY- 21st Oct 1821

Because I couldn't find a marriage for Thomas Ogley to a Tabitha I looked at Phillimore's....didn't find a marriage for them but this is interesting!

Phillimore' marriage index
John Gray, parish of Gringley & Elizabeth Ogley - 25th may 1812 at Everton

Hi.....

That's the marriage certificate that is at the top of the page.....the licence was what the couple would have applied for instead of the banns being read in church on the three consecutive Sunday's prior to the marriage. People did this for a variety of reasons....such as speed, or they wanted to be discreet by not having the banns read in public etc.
Perhaps you could enquire at the record office in Sheffield to see if the licence has survived?
