Isaac Elliot(t), Newcastle Upon Tyne

Dear Friends,

I'm hoping to connect with other people who share my Elliot family history.  My Great X 3, Grandfather, Isaac Elliot, was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1773.  In 1788, as a cabin boy, he left Newcastle Upon Tyne, for British North America and settled in the Canadian province of New Brunswick.  I have a DNA match with a man who claims the same line.  Our history records that Isaac lived with a wealthy, uncle in Newcastle Upon Tyne and was left a substantial, inheritance when his uncle died.  Isaac died in a lumbering accident in 1851 in New Brunswick and never made it back to England to receive his inheritance.  Before Isaac left for British North America, his family made sure he knew this:  'Never forget that we are the Elliots of Lariston'.  We've never forgotten.
