Catherine Owen, who married Edward Legh, was born 1799 in Hendrefeinws, Abererch, Anglesey
daughter of Edward Pugh Owen, Rector of Llaniestyn Botwnnog CAE and Mary Ellis of Llandrillo yn Rhos DEN.

Another 19C genealogical work by Jacob Youde Lloyd gives a fuller description of the
family of Owen of Caer Berllan, Llanfihangel y pennant, Merioneth, to which Edward Pugh
Owen belonged, including the heraldry of the family. The male line coat of
"Azure, a chevron inter three cocks argent, crested and wattled or" is illustrated.
