Back from our day trip to Ruabon.
There are hardly any headstones in the church so we approached a guy walking his dog & we asked for directions to the cemetry. "I dont live around here" he replied. "That must be a fit dog then" I joked, but I dont think he understood my humour.
Anyway, another dog walker gave us directions & 5 of us spent at least an hour walking around Ruabon cemetry but to no avail. Another local then suggested "going to Rouse"
. He gave us directions and we found 2 churchyards but just looking at google maps now, I think we ended up at Penycae !!!
Im now assuming he meant Rhosllannerchrugog but that seems a bit far out as the family were born, lived & died in Ruabon & Cefn Mawr.
Prehaps gnu & wrjones could post their thoughts.
We did find their address' as published in the censuses but the properties in Ruabon High street & Minshalls Croft in Cefn Mawr are no longer there.
I've got the Rhosymedre burial, etc. records at home. If nobody has any other ideas, I'll check them out for you when I get back at the weekend.
gnu
That would be great, thank you.
So all in all, not the most succesful days hunting we have had but the food & drink at the Sun Trevor Inn was most welcome.
