I have received a marriage certificate today for my grandparents William Albert Floyd and Bertha Benson Married 4th April 1925
William Albert Floyd, 21 years, Bachelor, Motor-man, 8 Beswick Street, West Derby
Father: Frederick Arthur Floyd, Furniture Porter
Bertha Benson, 21 years, Spinster, House-maid, 4 Gillow?? (can't read it) Terrace, Everton
Father: Thomas Benson (deceased), Carter

I was unsure whether my great grandfather was William Floyd or Frederick Albert Floyd
Now that I have the information can anyone help to get back any further?

There's a birth for a Frederick Floyd 1877 West Derby,he appears to be in Barrow- in - Furness in 1901 & listed as a shipwright,Father Alfred.

William is on the 1911 census with father Frederick Arthur.
We're not allowed to give 1911 census info. because of copyright laws.
However a free search reveals 5 in the household,mother Mary.

In the household is a son William Francis floyd aged 10,born 3 years before they married.There isn't a William Francis Floyd in FreeBMD but there is a William Francis Higgins born 1901 Manchester.
you need Frederick's marriage to confirm father.
