Info on John Bayley & Ann Loyds children
« on: Friday 22 April 11 00:22 BST (UK) »
Hi

Looking for information on these children.  Anything will be most welcome, i have baptisms.

Adam Bayley b. 30 Jun 1803
Thomas Bayley b. 29 Oct 1804
William Bayley b. 25 Nov 1807
Margaret Bayley b. 2 Jun 1809.

I have nothing confirmed for the above children at all.

I do have family lines for the other 3 children John b. 7 Jan 1806, Edward b. 19 Oct 1811 and Catherine b. 19 Mar 1816

All the above children were baptised in Kinnerley, Shropshire except for the youngest daughter Catherine, she was baptised in Shawbury, Shropshire.

Many thanks for any help offered.

Hi

There are some snippets of info dotted around, but I wouldn't call them concrete, here goes:

Adam, virtually nothing apart from his birth stats.

Thomas, there is an entry for an infant death in Apr 1805, Castle Hill, Shropshire, this can be checked in the SPR, Shrewsbury, St Mary. Also an entry in the 1841 census for Thomas b/ch about 1806, living with or married to Sarah aged about 30, Sarah 13 and William 11, (remembering the 1841 census rounds down ages for those over 15). 1851 same couple and William is still there.

William, 1841, aged 35, blacksmith and married to Mary aged 40 living at Stanton upon Hine Heath.

Margaret, as with Adam.

Very odd from 4 offspring that virtually nothing has shown up... You would have to look at a multiple accident or a serious childhood disease affecting them, though there are no obvious signs apart from Thomas, but in 1805 that would discount the others if substantiated.

Not too confident of any of this but there are one or two pointers to check on, certainly a mystery.

Yeah, saw that, but but was put off by the spelling 'Bailey' though I accept this can happen.

Just rechecking that custodial info, there was also a John Bailey (possible brother) aged 30 and a farmer in at the same time, as I recall his/their father was a farmer in Bessford, if Wozzle is onto to something this may be a step in right direction.

Yeah, noticed that too, unless he is a recidivist we could be out on a limb, though I take your point of checking all leads. The lack of info on such a large family is extraordinary, usually it's possible to get something concrete...

An afterthought, was that the name was spelt correctly this time.

Hi and thanks for the help, it is a bit of a mystery, i have tried several times and gone down the wrong path for those children before.  I have seen Adam Lloyd Bailey and also wonders.....................as you both say not alot of concrete evidence.

Thanks you for the help i will follow the leads you gave on Thomas Bayley.  I think Margaret might of married, though that is also unproven, cant remember who too either now.

Anyway, i will look into all you have posted and let you know how it goes.

Thanks again.
