It looks like the only easy way of solving whether this was her daughter or not, is to obtain a copy of the birth certificate.

Hi Velda. Great minds think alike. Yesterday I spoke to Southport and explained my problem. They assured me that if I ordered the birth certificate and it turned out to be a incorrect one I just have to return it and the payement will be returned. Where as in the past they kept a portion for administration , 2yrs ago the policy changed . The complete fee is returned. Will wait and see what happens. Thank you for your assistance. Eirwen.
