1841 and 1861 Census Look up CAMERON
« on: Friday 22 April 11 21:00 BST (UK) »
I wonder if some kind soul could look up some Cameron relatives for me please?

In 1851 at Hill Street, Kirkcaldy I have

John Cameron aged 39, confectioner, b Pathhead
Elizabeth Cameron aged 40 b Tain
Elizabeth Cameron aged 11 b Kirkcaldy
William Cameron aged 8 b Edinburgh
John Cameron aged 5 (my Gt Gt GdF) b Falkirk (I think)

I know that John and Elizabeth married in 1839 but not sure whether it's in Edinburgh or Kirkcaldy as it seems to be listed in both places on IGI. I'm trying to see if I have the correct parents for Elizabeth and hope that any other children listed in the 1841 or 1861 census might help. Can't find any other than William on IGI.

Any help much appreciated - thanks.

Brilliant thank you Jackie - must be one of the smaller families I've come across in my research, unless they lost lots of chidren in infancy like so many others.

No sign in 1841?

no sign for the 1841 so far  ???

I did find possibility of them separate but there was no sign of Elizabeth the daughter
I think I may have found her later on married was her full name Elizabeth Henrietta Innes Cameron
can see what you mean about the marriage reg in two different places  ??? I have been looking for something to confirm that to but no luck there either

Just remembered reading elsewhere on here that the 1841 Kirkcaldy census was lost at sea unbelievably! So no chance of finding them on that unless they weren't in Kirkcaldy at the time.

I don't know Elizabeth the daughter's full name - only have her from the census as I've been tracking son John at the moment. Fair chance it's her with the middle name Innes - where is she?

Strange that she wasn't on the 1861 census. When her son John married in 1870 she isn't listed as deceased so would assume she's still alive then.

This is one of my mystery families who like to hide then pop up unexpectedly!
