Bride of Oscar Charles Flute born Astwood
« on: Friday 22 April 11 23:33 BST (UK) »
I would appreciate help finding the name and place of birth for a woman who married Charles Oscar Flute. Thanks to those on this message board who gave me pointers on how to successfully retrieve the name of a spouse from marriage records but for some reason I can't make this one take with searching in the usual way and it keeps coming back without any record available.

However I know Oscar was married in 1908 and that he married someone called Eva or Eve. They also had a daughter. He was born in Astwood, youngest son of William Hart Flute and Elizabeth (Huckle) Flute in November of 1877 and grew up there. He passed away, I believe at Dunstable in 1970. I wish I'd made a note of where he was married but it was somewhere predictably close to Astwood like Bedford, Newport Pagnell or Ampthill.

Thanks ahead of time for helping me get past this roadblock.

Many thanks to all of you for providing this information. There I was simply trying to tie up a loose end and this is what I got!

It's just another example of how my father's family (Bitchenor) and my mother's family (Flute) provided at least one wedding each generation. I had absolutely no idea that Eva's mother was a Bitchenor, my great grandfather's sister. I knew Oscar was the child of my great grandfather on the Flute side and I assumed his choice of bride was simply random and she would just be another name from the village.

Again, thankyou.
