Holloway family - Nottingham
« on: Monday 25 April 11 09:26 BST (UK) »
I have a mystery that I am hoping someone can help me with.
On 1861 census in St Mary's Parish, Nottingham lived John Holloway a builder, his wife Ann and their children Ann (b. 1834), Mary (b. 1840), John (b. 1841), Ellen (b. 1843), Luke (b. 1846) & Hannah (b. 1849)
Ann Holloway died in 1861 and her husband John died in 1862.
I have been trying to trace what happened to the children without success - they seem to just disappear

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Radcliff, yes I saw his full name given as Luke Hallam on a census. I'm sure Ken will be thrilled at your discovery.

Skewy.

Not sure if you are still searching for information but I have details of Luke Hallam Holloway's family in New Zealand.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

If anyone is still searching,  I have the continuing story.  John and Ann followed their two younger sons to New Zealand with their three younger daughters. Two daughters died,  and the other married and returned to Nottingham with her husband four children to rejoin her older sister and brother. There are many Holloway descendants in NY.
