Hello Carol,

I have been very slow in responding to you but have been busily checking Census records more closely to try and make some sense of those firstly for Sarah Fogg. She is shown as being born in Sutton on Trent but can find no record - quite a few around the date for births in N

My apologies. I have found many census for Sarah Fogg - North Wheatley, Flintham and the like but nothing for her supposed birth place of Sutton on Trent  and the same for George and Jane - unless these places are located within the 'Parish' of Sutton on Trent. I'm afraid I can't tell from faraway OZ!!
 Maybe you can shed some light on this aspect for me

Hi Ed

I think you can eliminate the George who married Charlotte Roberts. I have found them in the censuses and his age fit with the George Fogg born in 1830 at Newark on Trent.

I think by the 1851 census when birth places were given Sarah would have been married.
