David Donald, around Glasgow, 1854
« on: Tuesday 26 April 11 12:49 BST (UK) »
My ancestor David Donald came to NZ from Scotland with his wife, Elizabeth Knox, of Kirkintilloch. Their first child, Grace, was born at sea in 1884. I have no idea what ship she was born on, but it was en route to Port Chalmers (from Greenock/Glasgow?).

I would like to know where David Donald comes from, in the familysearch.org there are huge amounts of David Donalds from around Glasgow. I can't seem to find any marriage record - Grace's birth at sea is the earliest record of them together that I have found. I don't have a Scotland's People account.

He was born around 1854

Thanks

Thanks for the info on Elizabeth. It proves the info I found in familysearch.
David Donald was a carrier, according to his death certificate. He died in Dunedin.
Still no info on parents.
