Yes, Hopefully this will become the "Gold standard" for record office sites.

Cityark which has the PRs for Medway (Kent) parishes has been going for quite a few years now.
Essex Record Office also has some registers online.
Norfolk RO has some document images, including early wills, online.

I just hope that the actual system used by Lincoln doesn't become the 'gold standard' because I fall asleep waiting for the wretched thing to pan up and down and left to right.  ;D Sometimes, it's nice to me and lets me use my mouse to scroll, but then it has a hissy fit and refuses to co-operate.
And don't get me started on the size of the viewing screen...............!  ;D

So, yes, 10 out of 10 for effort, but only about 3 out of 10 for ease of use. (I'm also hoping for improved indexing when the site officially goes live, because at the moment there is no logical order. Baptisms for 1839 are followed by the register for 1895-1901, then back to 1745-1753, followed by 1868-1872.  ??? )

While we're on the subject of "bad things", some registers are displayed sideways which makes them practically unreadable.  Hopefully, in the fullness of time, these images will be rotated to something more amenable.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

There is still time Pam for some of the problems to be sorted as the official date is 13th May I believe.

What do you think about £3.50 charge for an image ?

I think they could do a subscription where you can download and print what you like !!

So long as I can get free access and only pay when I need an image I think £3.50 a shot is better than say £30 per year, and  buy only two images or so.

Well, after initially being impressed with LTTP and making allowances until the official opening date.... I am in serious doubt whether adequate info is giong to be transcribed from 'fiche' to the new site.   .....As I mentioned late April, my research (and many other researchers no doubt) covers most of the county over the centuries.
Additionally, the search method is very 'long - winded' and requires streamlining.  Shopping basket system has to be improved so clients do not 'lose' potential purchases when 'continuing to shop'.
I noticed that Eileen has made a comment re:- losing several hours.........probably many more have experienced this also.
2 days remaining to sort out these important issues  !!

I got the impression Eileen became engrossed with the site for several hours, rather than getting lost in it.
