Hi S.R.
Would this be him.--- JOHN HENRY REES   Death entered on Oct Nov Dec Quarter of 1972
His birthdate is given as July 1st  1901 Caerleon Monmouthshire
Death certificate number is St Cadocs, Caerleon  8C 387
I tried 1901 Census but no joy or 1911 Census of course he could have moved to  Newport with his family
Any further info you have to trace him?

Hi S.R
apologies accepted !! Do you realise that St Cadocs was an Asylum still is I think.?  Why do you think that there would be an Obituary for him in the Press? The local paper is Probably the South Wales Argus still printed in Newport  I should  think  they
have archives don`t know how long they keep them. I know the
Central Libary had some there. I used to live in Newport and know
I looked up death notices etc but think they were earlier than the
1970`s. Do you live in Wales? I`ll try ad find out about their Archives and post again  .

Any Idea where I can go to find information of patients in St Cadocs from when they opened in the early 1900.s please. I have a great great grandfather Francis Spear who died at the asylum on  10/12/1911. He was an inmate there according to the 1901 census but the 1911 doesnt list him. I would really like to have access to his records.
