Hello,
I have 4 members of the Barry family living in Forest Hill / Sydenham during the late Victorian period. If anyone can locate the marriage registers, perhaps LMA perhaps in Kent, I would be grateful. From the BMD free project I know the quarters:
1. James Buckinger Barry married Sept qtr 1880
2. Mary Ann Amelia Barry married Sept. qtr 1881
3. Emily Hobert Barry married June qtr 1894
4. Laura Ada Barry married March qtr 1902
all these are in the Lewisham RD, but the 1902 marriage has banns for St Saviour's, Forest Hill and St Augustine's, Forest Hill.
From censuses and wills I have their father William Barry, carver and gilder living at Whittington Terrace, Forest Hill in 1873; London Rd, Forest Hill in 1881 (parish of Christ Church); Stanstead Rd, Forest Hill in 1891 and 1901 (parish of St Saviour's) - which may indicate possible nearby churches if not the parish church itself. They may be non-conformists as William's parents were buried in unconsecrated ground at St Pancras Cemetery.
Thanks very much for any information - Richard.
