Help Please with Margaret ELLIS
« on: Saturday 30 April 11 13:15 BST (UK) »
I live in the UK and Margaret's father was, I believe, one of my relatives, but I am looking for some confirmation/proof.

Margaret was born in Victoria, Australia on 4th July 1919 and her father was not using his real name but calling himself Walter or Frank Ellis. (His real name was Walter/Frank Harrop).
I believe Margaret's mothers christian name was Jean.

I have been unable to find out any details from the UK and am hoping someone in Aus might be able to help me.

Many thanks in advance.

Martin

Martin,  may I ask where you have Margaret's birthdate from?
I can't see the birth of either a Margaret Ellis or a Margaret Harrop in Victoria between 1913 and 1920.

Also do you know that Margaret is deceased? if not, it would be best to remove the birthdate from your post.

Do you have any more details such as Walter/Frank's parents that might help with the search?

Hi Dee,

Margaret's birthdate was given to me by another relative - she is deceased.

Frank/Walters parents were Joseph Harrop and Eliza Ellis - he was born in NZ.

Looks like either Margaret's birthdate is wrong or she was born in another State I guess.

Thanks

Martin

Hi Merlin,

I believe that Margaret Ellis married a Bernard Connelly, but I don't know when and I don't know when and where she died.

There is a ww2 Service Record for a chap  named CONNELLY, BENJAMIN ROSS  in the Australian Army.

I am not able to search further in the state of his birth, but others may.

His birthdate falls after 1920, so, instead of placing his details on this board, I will give you this link to view for yourself.
