Dallas' marriage certificate will give you the name of her father.

By looking a the free index of the 1911 census you can see that there was a Dallas FORD but no COUSINS (it's great when you are searching for someone with an unusual name).

FreeBMD shows Dallas'age at death as 43 - so she would have been born around 1902.

The marriage in 1927 is:

September qtr 1927
Kensington    vol 1a, page 419

Chaston, Henry W E
Ford, Dallas L
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Whilst she seesm to appear on the 1911 as Dallas Ford, she doesn't seem to have been registered under that name.

There is a Dallas Bayly S Cousins born in Sept 1902 in Wandsworth ref 1d 666.

It's not Dallas L but is possibly the Cousins surname that you mention.

A quick search for a marriage of Mr Ford to a lady named Dora (Dallas' mother's name) for the time frame 1895 to 1910 produces a single hit:

March qtr 1905
Islington    Vol 1b, page 498
Ford, Henry Arthur
Compton, Dora Annie

. . . but that is assuming they were married in London, Middlesex or Surrey?

How did you come by the information re Ford or Cousins surnames?

There is a birth of a Frederick(her brother) that might fit.

Possibly with the last C standing for Cousins?

Births Mar 1906

Thank you,  I can't  find Dallas's birth either, I can only find the Cousins one.  There are 2 ways I have found Dallas L. Ford, one was the 1911 census and the other was on shipping documents when her mother Dora Elizabeth Cousins travelled to Canada to visit her sister and family.  Fred her son eventually travelled to Canada too, and at one stage Dora and her (2nd?) husband Sebastion Volk who was a salmon fisherman had a fishing boat called dallas L.Ford.  Dora has stated in the 1911 census that she has private means, and I wonder if this was from Mr Ford, I also wonder if Dallas was born before she married Mr Ford, but I can't find a marriage for Dora  & Mr Ford.

I'll keep digging.  I just wondered if any one had access to the kent  death records for more information.

Thank you everyone for your help.

I doubt that her death or burial record will be of much help.  :(

Death records only have where died, cause of death and name of informant.

Church burial records usually just give date.

A monumental inscription (if you can find a grave) may give dates of birth and death and name of husband.

Hang on a mo'!

When did Dora travel to Canada?
If it was after 1911, then she was a Cousins AFTER she was a Ford?
If before 1911, then Dora might have been a Cousins before marrying Mr Ford.
