That fits well Ev  :) I think she still shows with brother in 1891, living at Blue Bell Court in Duddingston.

Oh you clever people! That does look rather like her doesn't it?

Former domestic servant indeed - too busy getting pregnant to be working it seems. That's at least two daughters possibly another two going by the 1851 census.

Don't you just love that address - Widow Foggo's. Must investigate that one a bitt more.

I take it there's no way of identifying the elusive George Banks since they didn't marry?

There is a George Banks b. 1824 and born/living in Duddingston in 1851 with parents - a possibility but just speculation really....

Transcripton is not great on this one (you might want to double check on the original). I think this 1861 census entry is Agnes' mother with possibly some of Agnes' children at Easter Duddingston:

Joan Foggo 63
Jemima Good (Foggo) 23, daughter
Janes Lascels 14 granddaughter
Leah Gowans 7 granddaughter

John Smith Storie, Railway fireman,  died  6th March 1883 as a result of being hit by a train ( fractured spine and pelvis ) born 11 July 1842.        A small twig in part of the descendants of our family tree connections.      Best send a PM  to exchange information.

Hello Portybelle

John Storie the railwayman was my great grandfather - he married Ann Banks and had a daughter (Jemima Foggo Storie) who was my Dad's Mum. She was born in Dunbar, East Lothian in 1880.

I would be interested to hear about how you fit into the family tree.

I have a family tree on GenesReunited.co.uk that I could share with you.
