Look up request - Jones, Corwen Dist.

I'm trying to find the baptism of a Minnie M Jones in the Corwen area in order to establish who her parents were.  The birth was registered in June qtr 1866.

Any help or advice gratefully accepted!

Hi Alisoning

If you know the birth reg.no. from the GRO and you have sent for it, it should have the names of the parents on it.  Have you sent for it ?

If not, then that is your first port of call.  Looking for a baptism might be hard work from a distance !
Using the names on the birth certificate of the parents , you should then be able to find a marriage.

The 1841, 1851,1861 Census will help you find the parents, and Minnie should be on the 1871 census

This is the only Minnie Jones in the Corwen registration district

1871 census

Mill Street , Trevor Ucha, Merioneth

Mary Ann Jones / head / age 36 / unmarried / wool picker / born Merioneth
Catherine Jones / daughter / age 8 / scholar / born Merioneth
MINNIE JONES / daughter / age 5 / Born Merioneth

On the 1881 census, Catherine is no longer at home , but Mary Ann and Minnie are living together, both are stated to be single...
