1841 Census Clarification
« on: Wednesday 11 May 11 14:24 BST (UK) »
Could anyone help me by deciphering the profession/trade for John Varney in Leighton Buzzard on the 1841 Census?  I'm having trouble with the resolution of my copy.  Thanks!

If he is the 40 year old one living in Ledburn, then it says Ag Lab.
If he is the 15 year old living in Ledburn then he is Ag Lab.

My apologies, I should have indicated his age.  He is 20 on the census in Leighton Buzzard.

unfortunately there are no wife or children to assist in clarification.  he shows up between James Rofs age 25 and Henry Varney age 15 (possibly a brother?).

Do you have the reference information - I'm not seeing any of the people you mentioned  :(

The ref is HO107/5/21PT2 f8 p11.

I can't read the occupation for certain, but it must be "J Pipemaker" looking at the composition of the household ("J" being Journeyman).

That helps - but on FindMyPast the image is even worse!

Your chaps have been transcribed as:
??, John  M  20
??, Henry  M  15

So, can't help I'm afraid.
