I see John W. & Victoria I. Bowman in the California voter registrations at the 571 Brooks, Laguna Beach address up to 1964, but I'm not finding any likely matches for John after that.

I found an newspaper article from the LA Times dated 4 Jan 1965 which indicated John W. Bowman of 571 Brook Street was hit by a car the previous evening while crossing the street. The article says he died a short time later and was the first traffic fatality in Orange County of 1965.
