I need help finding Mary Ann Evans,b 1837*COMPLETED*
« on: Wednesday 18 May 11 14:56 BST (UK) »
This is another one of the many stumbling blocks in my tree - my G G G Grandmother Mary Ann Evans, born abt 1837 in Wolverhampton.
I cannot find her in 1841 or 1851.
I have her marriage certificate from 1858,and it states her Fathers name is Joseph.
On all the census returns she always maintains that she was born in Wolverhampton.

I am going over to Wolverhampton archives on Friday, this is one lady that I would like to see if I can find any more on,so if anyone could possibly find her in 1841 and 1851 I would be very grateful!

Hello everyone and thank you for your replies -They are very interesting, and promising!
I have attached a scan of the cert as I cannot make out what Josephs occupation is - well its half a cert,my scanner is going saft, can't make it do what I want it to!

The witnesses were Samuel S-wer? and an Eliza Hill,no ringing bells with those names unfortunately.
